Pele, whose real name is Edson Arantes do Nascimento, is widely regarded as one of the greatest football players of all time. He was born on October 23, 1940, in Tres Coracoes, Brazil, and started playing football at a young age.

Pele began his professional football career at the age of 16 with Santos FC, a club based in Sao Paulo, Brazil. He quickly established himself as a talented player, and his skill on the field soon made him a household name in Brazil. He won his first major trophy with Santos FC in 1958, when they won the Campeonato Paulista.

Pele’s international career began in 1957, when he was called up to play for the Brazilian national team.
